Biography

Sergey Medvedchikov
Freelance photographer.

IMG_5776_1Born in Tomsk (Siberia) in 1973.
Started as professional photographer in 2000.

Between 2004-and 2009 Sergei contributed to a number of magazines as a travel-photographer, shooting scenes in different parts of Russia and other countries.
His photos were published in editions of Kommersant and «Burda» Publishing Houses, as well as «Russian reporter», «Foto-Travel», «GEO» magazines, etc.

Participant of several solo and collective exhibitions.

2001-2012 – Sergey is a staff photographer of The State Museum of Ceramics and Kuskovo Estate of the XVIII Century.
2008-2011 – Academy of Classic Photography (teacher).
2009-2012 – photo-school «Zoom».
2009 – 2012 – The Publishing House «MediaPub». Conducting travel photography workshops and photo tours.
2012 – present – the organizer of personal street-photography workshops throughout the world.

From 2004 until present – works on his own documentary and local history projects.
As a photographer and visual anthropologist involved in SOAS ELDP Major documentation project 2012-2015 (UK) / Documentation South Selkup and Eastern Khant endangered languages and cultures.
